FieldCore is committed to providing World Class execution to support GE across all major service lines, including oil & gas. In the Guangdong Province in China, the Huizhou petrochemical site owned by Huizhou Shell, a joint venture between China National Offshore Oil Corporation and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited produces chemicals and derivative products to the domestic market for agriculture, manufacturing, construction, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods, among others. The 60MW combined cycle plant is powered by a GE 6B heavy duty gas turbine as part of the company’s first services partnership with Huizhou Shell. The rugged 6B gas turbine, is trusted for its 99 percent reliability, easy installation and fuel flexibility.

From 5th Nov to 20th December 2018, the GE and FieldCore Team carried out a major inspection for one unit of its 6B gas turbine (frame PG6581B), as part of a planned outage.

The Team carried out the outage with strong professionalism and team collaboration, in accordance to customer requirements, which ultimately contributed to the smooth start-up of the gas turbine and continuation of operations. Huizhou Shell was impressed with the team’s EHS and Quality Control.

As part of FieldCore’s observance of Quality Month throughout November, activities such as Quality Everyday toolbox talks, and ideation sessions were conducted to generate awareness on quality themes and co-create initiatives to improve quality and encourage Stop Work. Positive feedback was given by external OHSAS auditors, who commended the team, for going the extra mile to advocate good Quality and EHS practices.
